Where's the wine?

So I went to my first Junior League meet and greet last night. I'm pretty sure I'm going to join the provisional class in August. I wasn't quite sure I was ready for the JL - it reminds me SO much of sorority life. Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely 100% glad that I joined a sorority in college (met my BF that way!) but it's hard to describe my reluctance. I guess it boils down to I get scared around new people. Sure I can blag my way through a cocktail party. But will I like any of these women? Time will tell. I definitely met some fun girls at the MeG. And let me tell you - that house was filled with the best wardrobe I've seen in forever. Designer bags everywhere. Premium denim on everyone. Sweaters that look plain (it was chilly - in the low 60s) but when you got up close you knew that they were $400 and up at Saks. I've definitely got to step up the clothing at the next meeting. (For the record, I was in a strapless navy nautical print J.Crew dress, navy cardigan, pearls, and strappy bronze flats.)

So fess up - who's in the Junior League? Do you like it?

I'm a Leaguer and I absolutely love it. Good for you for considering joining - you'll have a blast! (and you'll feel really good about the great things a group of dedicated women can accomplish.))

I am not in the junior league yet, but I want to join later on. I have several friends who are members and they love it.

Enjoy your weekend!

I'm in the league! This fall will start my second year as a "regular" member so it really is my third year if you count the provisional year. I will also be on the board this fall. I love it! Don't worry so much about the wardrobe. At our meetings everyone comes pretty casual. (lots of J.Crew and Ralph Lauren)
